Lenox was founded in 1889 with a singular vision to set the highest standards for quality, artistry and beauty. They bring a rich history of craftsmanship to modern day life; where families and friends gather to celebrate using pieces that are versatile and timeless. From their roots as a small art studio to appearances at the White House, their story begins (and continues on) with one key idea: to create beautiful, artistic pieces of the highest quality.<br /br> <br /br>Walter Scott Lenox opened the Ceramic Art Company in 1889. It was a small studio with a few artists who hand-painted ivory china. That company became Lenox Incorporated in 1906. <br /br> <br/br>Lenox became the first American-made china to grace a US president's table when Woodrow Wilson commissioned a 1,700 piece service for the White House in 1918. Five more presidents followed this precedent including Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1934, Harry S. Truman in 1951, Ronald Reagan in 1981, Bill Clinton in 2000, and George W. Bush in 2008.<br /br> <br/ br>The foundation of quality craftsmanship of years ago is still present in the pieces Lenox produces today. From place settings to glassware to decorative accents, Lenox continues to innovate with timeless style.
